GTA 6 Will Reportedly Come To PC Much Earlier Than Expected

Gamespot is running a story that GTA 6 could hit PC within the first three months of 2027. That would be January to March, so if the console version drops November 19 like we know, PC players might only be waiting a few months instead of the usual year plus.

Industry sources told GamesBeat that Rockstar is planning the PC version for Q1 2027. For context, GTA 5 on PC took 18 months after the PS3 and 360 launch. Red Dead Redemption 2 also had a lengthy gap after consoles. So if this is true it's a huge shift.

Strauss Zelnick has been saying PC is becoming a bigger deal for Take-Two, and their PC sales have grown a lot. That's probably why they'd move faster this time. Also a former Rockstar producer named John Ricchio talked about how building for consoles first lets them expand upward to PC hardware instead of cutting things down. Makes sense when you think about it.

Rockstar still hasn't confirmed any PC version officially. The game's listed platforms are only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. And Microsoft clarified GTA 6 won't be streamed to PC through Xbox Cloud Gaming either, so that workaround is dead too.

I'm not holding my breath until Rockstar says something, but this is the first PC rumor that actually lines up with what Take-Two execs have been saying about PC importance. Still, I remember all the fake PC date leaks for GTA 5 back in the day. We'll see.
