calendar app on the phone would make leonida feel alive, am i overthinking this?
The phone in GTA 6 already sounds like a bigger deal than the one in V. Social media, texting, navigation, all tied into how you find stuff around Leonida. Some story beats apparently check your bank balance, and random encounters can pop up on an app first before you drive out to see them in person.
What I haven't seen anyone really dig into is whether there's a calendar app. Time of day and day of the week are supposed to change NPC density, nightclub activity, maybe even some missions. In older games a mission set at night would just time skip if you showed up during the day. But now that the world actually reacts to the clock, a calendar would make sense.
Think about it. You see a post on the in-game social media app about some car meet or a club event. Instead of just screenshotting it with your real phone, you could add it to the character's calendar. It saves the time, date, and drops a waypoint. Same for texts from contacts, overhearing NPCs talk about something happening later in the week, or even ads on billboards around Vice City.
That would turn the phone from a menu into something you actually check. You'd plan your in-game week around events instead of just wandering until something triggers. And if the bank balance stuff is real, maybe some events only show up when you have enough cash, which would make the calendar feel even more like a personal planner.
Rockstar hasn't shown the phone UI in any detail yet, so this is all guesswork. But the pieces are already there from what they've told us about world events and time-based systems.
Would a calendar app be overkill, or is that exactly the kind of small system that would make Leonida feel alive?
