side activities i'm hoping for, taxi and tinder stuff

Back in GTA 3 the taxi side gig was such a simple thing but I did it for hours. Steal a cab, pick up fares, drop them off, get paid. It was almost meditative. And now with GTA 6 being set in modern day Leonida, I keep thinking about how they could bring that back but updated.

We don't know what's on the in-game phone yet. Rockstar hasn't confirmed any apps. But come on, an Uber style thing feels like a lock. You'd get a ping, pick someone up, deal with traffic, maybe they're annoying or in a hurry. Same with food delivery. I just want to do Uber Eats runs and then spit in someone's onion rings because they didn't tip. Or better yet, pull over and beat their ass for being cheap. That's the kind of petty chaos GTA does best.

And the dating stuff from GTA 4. That was clunky but had charm. Imagine a Tinder equivalent where you set up a profile, swipe on NPCs, go on dates, and then it all goes wrong because you're a wanted criminal. Or you match with someone who turns out to be a cop. Rockstar could do a lot with that. Modernize it, make it weird, let it tie into random encounters.

I know some people want the big heists and the story to be serious. But the side activities are what keep me playing for years. GTA 5 had golf and tennis and yoga, which were fine but felt like minigames. I want stuff that feels like a job you can actually get lost in. Taxi driving in GTA 3 was that. A modern gig economy version in Vice City would be perfect.

Anyway, I'm not expecting Rockstar to confirm any of this before launch. They'll keep the phone apps under wraps until we're actually playing. But if there's no way to do food delivery and ruin someone's meal, I'll be a little disappointed.

The GTA 3 taxi grind was real. I did 100 fares in one sitting just to see the completion percentage tick up. A gig economy version in Leonida would eat my save file alive.
