I sorted every GTA 6 location by how solid the source is. Here's my list.

Saw another one of those 'confirmed locations' compilations that just throws everything together, trailer shots and Discord mapping theories all in the same bucket. So I sat down and sorted it myself with one rule: if I can't point to a specific moment in an official trailer or a Rockstar screenshot, it doesn't go in the confirmed column. Doesn't mean it's wrong, just means it isn't confirmed.

What's actually confirmed (traceable to official footage)

  • Vice City downtown and financial district
  • Ocean Drive-style beach strip
  • Port and industrial waterfront
  • Bay bridge / causeway
  • Nightlife and entertainment district
  • Big international airport
  • Multi-level shopping mall interior
  • Swampland / Everglades analog
  • Rural towns and highway motel corridors
  • Trailer park communities
  • Prison facility
  • Coastal marina / yacht club
  • Suburban sprawl
  • Dirt-road rural interior

Not confirmed (fan mapping or inference only)

  • Offshore island chain (Keys analog). People derived it from water geometry in aerial shots. Rockstar never named it. Might be right, but it's not confirmed.
  • Northern inland region. Pure fan cartography.
  • A second city. Zero official confirmation, yet it gets stated as fact constantly.
  • Subway / underground network. Some transit infrastructure is visible, that's the whole basis.
  • Interior access rules. Nobody knows which buildings are actually enterable.

Two things hit me while doing this. First, the confirmed list hasn't really gained new regions in a long time. What it keeps gaining is density, more detail inside zones we already knew about. That's a different kind of news than people treat it as. Second, that 120-200 km² map size everyone repeats isn't a Rockstar number. It's fans measuring shadows and flight paths from trailer footage. Pre-launch estimates for GTA 5 ran high too. I'd bet the real number lands near the bottom of that range, not the top.

The islands are the one I'm least sure about. If someone has an official source I missed, I'll move it. But until Rockstar names it or shows it clearly, it stays in the unconfirmed column.
