endgame speculation, the pro and unpro split could decide lucia and jason's fate
Been chewing on this one for a while now. Rockstar's done the multiple endings thing before, and with the criminal profiles they've been pushing for Lucia and Jason, it feels like they're setting up something similar.
I don't think either protagonist dies. That would be the easy way out and honestly it'd cheapen the whole duo dynamic they've built. What I keep coming back to is a split based on how you've played each character, professional vs unprofessional. Like if both are pros, the final score goes clean and you ride off together. Relationship optional, no forced romance.
But if one's pro and the other isn't, that's where it gets interesting. The unpro one double crosses the other mid-score. You still finish the job, but after that they go their separate ways. If you had them in a relationship, it's over. You can still swap between both characters in free roam, but all the shared activities and communication get locked out. That's a brutal consequence that doesn't require killing anyone.
Then there's the both unpro path. The final score still gets done, but it's way messier than the clean pro version. You stay together in the endgame but with some kind of lingering drawback or repercussion hanging over you.
I could see three endings, maybe four if they split the relationship angle out further. The honor system in RDR2 already showed they're willing to let your playstyle shape the ending, so this feels like the natural next step for VI.
My money's on the one pro one unpro ending being the one most people get on their first run, just because it's the most dramatic without killing anyone.
