chunkee the manatee as the manatees mascot, the jersey guy sealed it for me

So the Collector's Box finally gave us a proper look at Chunkee the Manatee and I can't stop thinking about that one shot from the trailers. You know the one, some dude walking around in a Manatee football jersey. It's been sitting there since the second trailer and nobody really connected the dots until now.

We already knew Vice City has a football team called the Manatees. There were references in the extended look too, I think. But now Rockstar officially introduced Chunkee as one of the animal characters in the game. That's a very specific choice. They didn't just add a random manatee for the wildlife, they named him and gave him a personality in the Collector's Box material.

If the team is the Vice City Manatees, having an actual manatee mascot named Chunkee feels almost too obvious. Like the kind of thing Rockstar would absolutely do. They love that layered world building where the sports team, the mascot, and the local wildlife all tie together.

I'm not saying it's confirmed or anything, but the jersey guy in the trailer was already a hint. Now we have a named manatee character. Chunkee being the mascot would explain why they bothered to introduce him in the Collector's Box at all. Otherwise he's just a sea cow swimming around the Keys, which is cool but not exactly marketing material.

I'm calling it now. Chunkee is the Manatees mascot and we'll probably see him at a game or on some merch in Leonida. Wouldn't be surprised if he shows up in a side mission either.

If Chunkee's the mascot, there's gotta be a Manatees stadium somewhere in Vice City (knowing Rockstar, tucked somewhere weird). Los Santos never gave us a proper football ground.
