caught a rep up sound in the extended look, is the icon hidden or what
So I was rewatching the extended look for the hundredth time and around the 8:00 mark something caught my ear. Jason holds the door for Lucia, it closes behind them, and right then you hear that little chime. It's the same kind of sound RDR2 uses when your honor or reputation ticks up. But there's no icon on screen. Nothing pops up.
TGG has talked about this in a few videos, the idea that Rockstar might include UI cleanup options. Like you could hide certain HUD elements if you want a cleaner look. Or maybe they just hid the icon for this trailer because they didn't want to show off the relationship system yet. Either way it's weird to hear the sound but see nothing.
I'm thinking this could be tied to a bond or relationship mechanic between Jason and Lucia. Small interactions like opening a door, waiting for each other, maybe that builds something over time. Could affect dialogue or mission outcomes. Or it's just a generic positive interaction sound and I'm reading too much into it. But the fact that the icon is missing makes me wonder if Rockstar is testing a more minimal UI approach.
If they do give us a toggle to hide the rep icons, that would be huge for immersion. I already turn off most of the HUD in GTA V when I'm just cruising around. Having that built in for GTA 6 would be a nice touch.
Do you think Rockstar will actually give us a UI cleanup toggle, or was this just trailer editing?
