Leonida zoo has to be more than just looking at cages, right?
I keep coming back to the zoo. We know it's in Leonida somewhere and the animal compendium thing sounds cool on paper, but walking around reading plaques isn't going to hold anyone's attention after the first visit. Jason and Lucia could go on a date there, sure, but Rockstar doesn't build a location that detailed just for a photo op.
The recent Game Informer piece talked about Florida's invasive species problem and how escaped exotic animals are basically a recurring news story down there. That feels like the angle. What if the zoo is the starting point for a bunch of animal related sidequests, not just a place to tick off sightings?
Remember that RDR2 mission where Arthur helps the circus guy track down his escaped animals? Something like that but cranked up to Florida ridiculousness. Hurricane damage could have busted some enclosures open, and now there are social media posts showing a panther wandering a trailer park or an alligator in a shopping centre. You'd have to track them down across Leonida, maybe using those posts as clues.
That would make the zoo way more meaningful. Instead of just studying animals inside a fence, you're out in the swamps and suburbs actually hunting them down. The catch and transport part is where it gets tricky. Are we tranqing them and loading them into a truck? Calling in a specialist? Maybe Lucia and Jason have to improvise with whatever vehicle is nearby.
A poaching angle could tie into a bigger animal trade thing too. Either way, the zoo being a hub for missions makes way more sense than it being a static attraction.
Would you rather have scripted animal recovery missions or a more open ended system where escaped animals just spawn around the map and you stumble into them?
