what if we just don't get a trailer 3 and they go straight to gameplay?

We're like 3 and a half months out from November 19 and still no Trailer 3. That's kinda wild when you think about it. GTA V had a whole marketing blitz by this point, but Strauss Zelnick did say they'd keep the window shorter this time. So maybe that's exactly what's happening.

I'm starting to think they might skip a third cinematic trailer entirely. Just jump straight into a big gameplay reveal. It'd make sense with the timeline. If they drop something in September, that's only two months before launch. Perfect for a gameplay blowout that gets everyone frothing at the mouth. No need for another story teaser when we already know Lucia and Jason, we've seen the world, we get the vibe.

The radio silence since Trailer 2 in May 2025 has been brutal, but if they're saving it all for one massive info dump, I can live with that. A 5-7 minute gameplay trailer showing off the new mechanics, the map, maybe a mission snippet. That would hit harder than another 90-second cinematic anyway. Rockstar's gameplay trailers are always legendary, remember the one for RDR2? That's what I want for GTA 6.

I wouldn't be surprised if August stays quiet too. Let the hype simmer, then in September they drop the bomb. What do you guys think, would you be cool with no Trailer 3 if it means we get a full gameplay reveal instead?

Trailer 1 dropped December 2023. Trailer 2 followed in May 2025. Now we're 109 days from launch, pre-orders opened June 25, and I haven't added a single new vehicle to my spreadsheet since Trailer 2's wide shot at (1:23). Rockstar doesn't need another cinematic. We know the counties. We know Lucia and Jason. A September gameplay blowout would hit roughly 60 days out. That fits Zelnick's shorter window. Cutscenes are pretty. Gameplay gives us handling flags, weapon sway, AI counts. I'd rather catalog systems than frames.

I prefer they skip Trailer 3 and go straight to gameplay. We already know the vibe of Leonida, reminds me a bit the coast here in Brazil. I want to see how Jason drives, how the shooting feels. Another cinematic don't show us that. September drop would be perfect timing.

We know Lucia and Jason.

We know their silhouettes, maybe. Two trailers and what, five lines of dialogue? A third cinematic could give them actual scenes with weight. Gameplay trailers are hype machines, but they don't make you care who you're stealing cars for.
