Haulover Inlet would make boats actually matter in GTA 6

Boats in GTA have always been kind of an afterthought for me. I'd steal one, mess around for five minutes, then beach it and forget it existed. They never felt like something worth investing in, you know? Upgrading a boat in V was pointless because there was nowhere to really push it.

But I was watching some Miami videos and Haulover Inlet keeps popping up. It's this narrow waterway where the waves get seriously rough, and it's become a spot where people bring their expensive boats just to show they can handle it. Like a proving ground for yachts and speedboats. The water conditions there are no joke.

Imagine that in GTA 6. You start with some little dinghy that gets tossed around like a toy, barely making it through. Then you save up, buy something bigger with a deeper hull, and suddenly you're cutting through those same waves like it's nothing. That's the kind of feedback cars give you on the road, but boats never had. This inlet could be the benchmark that makes boat upgrades feel tangible.

I remember a super short GIF floating around in 2019 that supposedly showed Rockstar's new water physics. It looked insane, waves actually reacting to objects instead of just being a moving texture. If that tech is in the game, Haulover Inlet would be the perfect place to show it off. You'd actually feel the difference between a small boat and a big one, not just in speed but in how it handles rough water.

It'd also give a reason to just hang out on the water. People in real life go there to watch boats struggle through the inlet, it's a whole scene. Rockstar could easily turn that into a dynamic event or just a cool spot where NPCs gather. Maybe you pull up in a million-dollar yacht and everyone stops to watch.

Would you actually spend money on a boat if there was a place like this to test it?
