jason is gonna be the arthur morgan of gta 6, calling it now

I keep seeing people call Jason wooden or bland and it's bugging me. We did this exact same thing with Arthur before RDR2 came out. Everyone looked at the early trailers and said he was just some generic tough guy with no personality. Then the game dropped and he became one of the best protagonists Rockstar has ever written.

Rockstar does this on purpose. They hide the real character depth in marketing so the story beats hit harder when you actually play. If they showed Arthur's whole arc in a trailer, the emotional payoff would've been ruined. Same deal with Jason. We've seen maybe a few minutes of him total across two trailers and a bunch of short clips. That's nothing.

Lucia gets most of the attention because she's the first female lead and she's loud and flashy in the footage. Jason comes off quieter, more reserved. People read that as boring. I read it as Rockstar keeping his cards close to their chest. The quiet ones are usually the ones with the heaviest baggage.

I'm not saying he'll top Arthur. That's a high bar. But I'm not writing him off either. If anything, the fact that so many people are dismissing him right now makes me more confident Rockstar has something big planned for him.

Jason gives off sleeper build energy. Looks stock on the outside, no flashy aero, no big wing. Then act two hits and he pops the hood and you're eating dust. Rockstar tunes their leads like that. Quiet car, BIG pull.

Arthur was the same way. Everybody slept til he broke their hearts.

Ha, I like this. And it's true, the quiet characters in Rockstar games always end up carrying the heavy stuff. Here in Brazil we say the calm water is the deepest one. People judged Arthur by the beard and the hat back then too. Two trailers is nothing to judge a whole man.
