driving immersion details I'm hoping for, not physics but the little stuff
I keep thinking about how much Rockstar can push the driving feel without touching the actual physics. The little details are what sell it for me. Dash lights doing a quick sweep when you turn the ignition, ABS or traction control lights blinking on newer cars when you push them hard. That kind of stuff would make every car feel alive.
Infotainment screens that actually mirror your in game radio selection or GPS route would be huge. Imagine glancing down and seeing the same station you picked, not some generic fake screen. Maybe even a basic autopilot for long highway drives, like a cruise control that keeps you in lane. Nothing too crazy, just enough to make road trips feel less tedious.
Wheel animations need work too. GTA IV had that weighty feel where the character actually turned the wheel hand over hand. V felt a bit stiff in comparison. Passenger physics as well, people leaning into turns or bracing when you brake hard. Small stuff but it adds up.
I'm not expecting a full sim, but Rockstar has the budget to go deep on this. If they nail the cockpit feel, even a boring sedan becomes fun to drive. That's the dream.

Dash sweeps and infotainment would be solid. I'd want the console and overhead light controls modeled proper for patrol vehicles. Traffic stops feel more authentic when the cockpit matches procedure. Even the radio head unit should mirror dispatch tones.
