Giorgio Moroder for the GTA 6 soundtrack? Hear me out
Been thinking about who Rockstar might tap for the score this time around. Tangerine Dream did some incredible work on GTA V, and I feel like Giorgio Moroder would be a perfect fit for Vice City.
Dude basically invented the sound of 80s Miami. Scarface soundtrack, all those pulsing synths and disco grooves, that's the DNA of Vice City right there. He's a legend in electronic music and film scoring, so he could bring that same kind of atmospheric, original composition that Tangerine Dream brought to V.
I know the cover art reveal had that Daft Punk vibe, and part of me would love to see them come back from the dead for this, but that feels like a long shot. Rockstar usually digs a little deeper than just grabbing the biggest name. Moroder feels more like their style, someone with serious history but not necessarily in everyone's playlist right now.
What do you all think? Any other composers or artists you'd want to see handle the original score?

Strong choice. Those analog synths would fit a wet highway pursuit at code three.
Moroder's a solid pick for the Vice City metro area, but I'm not sure that glossy Miami sound stretches across the whole state. (The Leonida Keys need something more humid and sparse, and Grassrivers up north is basically begging for a swampy ambient score.)

That nails the southeast grid perfectly. Give me pulsing synths echoing through downtown Vice City at sunset and I'm sold. Still, I hope Rockstar splits the map into distinct audio regions the way Los Santos and Blaine County felt different. Mount Kalaga at night with Moroder basslines would feel completely off. Save that for something grittier and more isolated.
Moroder would kill it in Vice City, but whole state can't sound like Miami. Here in Brazil we got coastal cities with same neon vibe, but you drive inland and it's totally different world. Rockstar should split score by region. Let Vice City keep those pulsing synths and give Grassrivers something heavier.
Moroder soundtracking a Flash FM sunset cruise through downtown Vice City? That's absolute perfection. Those analog arpeggios are basically the city's heartbeat!

MapNerd hit the nail on the head there. I'm all for Moroder's chrome-plated bass pulsing along Ocean Drive, but let Grassrivers swallow the needle drop entirely. Picture heading north into Mount Kalaga and the radio starts catching static between stations. It's not glossy disco out there. Just swamp crackle and isolation.
Rockstar's already done this dance with Blaine County vs Los Santos. If they commission Moroder, I hope it's strictly a Vice City metro thing. Save the swamp score for someone like Ben Frost or Tim Hecker. Let the mood match the asphalt!
Moroder's arpeggios hit different when you're sliding a widebody through downtown at 2am. Need that pulse for Vice City.

Exactly. That energy belongs on the asphalt. But Grassrivers? Give me something DIRTY. Droning sub bass while you're bogging a lifted truck through mud. Can't run the same loop for a midnight cruise and a swamp run.
