I'm scared for the gunplay in GTA 6 compared to GTA Online, anyone else?
After thousands of hours in GTA Online, I've gotten way too comfortable with the arcadey shooting. You know the drill: lock on, flick up for a headshot, move on. It's snappy, it's reliable, and it works for the chaos of Los Santos. But from what people are piecing together about GTA 6, it sounds like Rockstar might be leaning more toward RDR2's gunplay, and that has me a little worried.
The weapon limit doesn't bother me much. Carrying a whole armory in your pocket was always silly, and I can live with picking a couple guns before a mission. What I'm not looking forward to is the idea of heavy recoil and bloom. In RDR2, the bloom on repeat shots was so aggressive that it made gunfights feel sluggish. You'd have to wait for the reticle to settle, and in a game where you're often outnumbered, that just felt like a chore. GTA has always been about fast, satisfying shootouts, not lining up perfect shots while taking cover.
I get that Rockstar wants to make things more grounded, and I'm all for better animations and weightier movement. But if every firefight turns into a bloom management simulator, I'm gonna miss the old chaos. GTA 5's shooting wasn't perfect, but it was fun. You could spray and pray, and it still felt responsive. RDR2's gunplay, on the other hand, felt like the game was fighting you. I don't want to be fighting the controls when I'm trying to pull off a drive-by or clear a room full of cops.
And don't even get me started on enemy aimbot. If the AI in Leonida has the same laser accuracy as the NPCs in Online, and we're stuck with sluggish bloom, that's a recipe for frustration. I'm hoping Rockstar finds a middle ground: keep the shooting tight and satisfying, but add just enough recoil to make it feel weighty without turning every gunfight into a patience test.
What do you all think? Is anyone else worried they'll overdo the realism, or am I just too used to the arcade feel of GTA Online?

I just hope shootouts north of Vice City (and over in Port Gellhorn) don't turn into bloom management.
bloom management
Hard agree. Gunplay's gotta serve the scene, not turn every fight into homework.
turn every fight into homework
ngl i haven't played rdr2 so idk what bloom is but homework is exactly what i don't need after midterms fr
if it shoots like gta 5 i'm chillin lol
