sinkholes mid-mission while Flash FM plays Out of Touch? yes please
I'm already imagining a police chase through the Grassrivers, sirens wailing, and then the road just collapses under the cop car behind you. A sinkhole opens up right as Hall & Oates hits the chorus on Flash FM. That's the kind of dynamic chaos I need.
Storms are a given, but sinkholes and wildfires that actually reshape the map during a mission? That's next level needle drop territory. Imagine Emotion 98.3 playing a power ballad while the whole block burns. The mood shift would be insane.
I just hope the radio reacts. DJs cutting in with emergency broadcasts mid-song, or the station going to static if you drive too deep into a disaster zone. That's the simulation I'm here for.
The Flash FM detail got me. Out of Touch playing while the world crumbles behind you, that's some cinema. Here in Brazil when heavy summer rain hits the coastal cities, local radio sometimes cuts with flood warning, so the DJ interrupting mid-song feels real to me.
I don't need the map reshaping every mission though. Just one or two story beats where disaster hits at wrong time, like a sinkhole during a chase, that's enough. Makes it special instead of normal.
Static when you drive too deep into disaster zone? I like that a lot. Like the signal dying with the reception. Adds something without changing whole station.
I get maybe an hour to play after the kids go down. I don't need the ground swallowing cop cars every other Tuesday.
one or two story beats where disaster hits at wrong time
That's the sweet spot. Make it count and give me a good song when it happens. Static in the dead zone is a nice touch too.
I'm thinking about the pursuit end. If the road gives out and a cruiser drops into a sinkhole, the remaining units have to break off or reroute. Dispatch should update with road closure codes. Don't keep sending cars into the void.
Static when you drive too deep
That should hit police radio too. Losing comms mid-chase because you drove into a dead zone makes the chaos feel mutual. I'd like to see dispatch cut out right when you're trying to listen for air unit updates.
Keep it rare though. If the ground swallows a patrol car every other chase, the department starts looking incompetent. Once or twice in the story is enough.
