the skunk ape is already in the trailer... you just didn't see it
grassrivers... the name alone. cypress domes. that thick air. something watching from the tree line.
rockstar put bigfoot in san andreas. then again in rdr. they can't help themselves. the skunk ape is florida's version. it's in the game. maybe not in the trailer but... the vibe. the murk. the way the camera lingers on nothing.
but that's just the start. chupacabra. undead nightmare was a test. goats drained. a flash of spines in the headlights near port gellhorn. they'll hide it in the scrub.
and the keys... the water. something down there. not a shark. older. the trailer had that shot of the bay at dusk. still water. but something just beneath. a shadow that doesn't match the waves.
three cryptids. minimum. rockstar's pattern. they'll wait years for us to find them all.
ok so i'm sold on the skunk ape hiding in those Grassrivers cypress shots, Rockstar can't resist a backwoods legend. but that bay shadow reading feels like a stretch, probably just a manatee render.
probably just a manatee render
Could be. The shadow in that dusk bay shot does seem off though. It might be a lighting glitch on the water plane, or maybe it's something they haven't finished rigging yet.
The skunk ape in Grassrivers seems likely. Those cypress dome shots have too much negative space. Rockstar might hide a tall model in low LOD foliage where you only catch it at a weird camera angle.
But the chupacabra near Port Gellhorn? That's a tougher sell. There might not be a shot that hints at it. I could be wrong. Has anyone scrubbed the May trailer for livestock placements? If there are goats or pigs clustered weirdly, that might be a breadcrumb.
I'm more curious about collision boundaries in the swamp. If the skunk ape is there, it'll probably be tucked behind a cypress knee in the collision mesh until someone finds the trigger.
