ultimate edition perks, are the skins just early access or actually exclusive?

I've been going back and forth on this too. The Ultimate edition stuff seems to be mostly cosmetic skins and a free month of GTA+. I never played GTA Online either, so GTA+ is a mystery to me. In GTA 5 it was a monthly sub for Online, but what it does in 6, no clue. Rockstar hasn't said much.

The skins question is the big one. If they're just early access, then Ultimate is less appealing because you can unlock them later. If they're locked to Ultimate forever, that's different. I'd lean toward them being exclusive, because that's how these editions usually work, but I don't have confirmation.

The free month of GTA+ might be the real value if GTA+ ends up giving you stuff in single player, but again, no info. I'm probably going to wait until closer to launch to decide. Paying extra for skins and a month of a service I don't understand isn't a no brainer. If you're not into cosmetics, Standard might be fine. But if you want everything day one, Ultimate is the only way to get those skins, assuming they're exclusive. I'll keep an eye on Rockstar's FAQ.

Paying extra for skins and a month of a service I don't understand isn't a no brainer.

Feels weird that we're even having this conversation. In 2003 you walked into the store, bought Vice City, and that was it, the whole game in a box. Now I'm doing math on subscription tiers for a game that's still months out.

My gut says the skins are exclusive at launch and then quietly unlockable a year later. That's the usual playbook with these editions. Rockstar hasn't confirmed anything though, so I'd hold off. Standard is already $79.99, and GTA+ has to prove it matters for single player before I care. I'm not paying twenty extra bucks on a maybe.
