I don't get the 60fps panic for GTA 6, a locked 30 is fine

I keep seeing people freak out about GTA 6 maybe being 30fps on consoles, and I'm just not worried. A stable 30 with proper frame pacing doesn't ruin a game like this. L.A. Noire ran at 30 and nobody complained because the whole experience was built around atmosphere, facial tech, and soaking in the world. GTA's never been a twitch shooter where you need 120fps to compete. It's about driving around, getting into random chaos, and watching the city breathe.

Rockstar's simulation layers are what make their games special. The AI, the physics, the way NPCs react to weather and time of day. If pushing for 60 means they have to dial all that back, I'd rather they lock it at 30 and go all in on the world. An unstable 45-60 that stutters every time you hit a busy intersection would be way more distracting than a smooth 30.

Obviously 60 would be nice if they can pull it off without cutting corners, but I'm not holding my breath. The trailers already look insane, and I'd bet they're targeting 30 with those visuals. I'd take that trade any day.

What's your line in the sand? Would you sacrifice world density and simulation for a higher frame rate, or is a locked 30 with everything cranked up the way to go?

I lean toward a stable 30. GTA IV's "Three Leaf Clover" worked because subway crowds and AI reactions sold the panic, not frame rate. A locked 30 with full simulation beats stuttering 60 every time. I'll take 100% world fidelity over extra frames during mission chaos.

stable 30

Same. Here in Brazil we played GTAV at 30 forever. Messy 60 is worse.
