Woody Jackson and Daniel Lopatin on the GTA 6 score would be a dream team

I've been thinking a lot about the original score for this game. Woody Jackson's work on GTA V and RDR2 is incredible, and I'm pretty sure he's coming back for Leonida. But I'd lose my mind if they brought in Daniel Lopatin (Oneohtrix Point Never) to collaborate. His synth work on the Safdie brothers' movies like Good Time and Uncut Gems is unreal, and he just did Marty Supreme too. The guy knows how to build tension and atmosphere with electronic textures that would fit Vice City's neon-soaked nights perfectly.

Imagine cruising through the Keys at sunset with some lush, pulsing Lopatin pads underneath Woody's twangy guitar. Or a heist sequence where the score shifts from Jackson's live instrumentation into Lopatin's warped, anxious synthscapes. They could even split duties, Woody handling the more organic, swampy parts of Leonida and Daniel taking over the urban, after-dark Vice City stuff. The contrast would be incredible.

Rockstar's always had a good ear for composers, but this feels like a pairing that could define the whole vibe of the game. What other artists would you want to see contribute to the score or soundtrack?

I'm less worried about who signs the paycheck (or the licensing paperwork) and more about whether the score actually knows where you are on the map. In GTA V, Woody Jackson's guitars basically belonged to Blaine County and the Grand Senora Desert, while Los Santos got that synthetic glow. If he's back for Leonida, I'd want the same regional split.

Give me swampy slide guitars deep south in the Grassrivers and something sharp and digital barreling east into Vice City proper. Lopatin's textures would fit a midnight run through Ambrosia, but leave Mount Kalaga and Port Gellhorn with something warmer and more lived in. The Leonida Keys need their own thing entirely, something that sounds like humidity and a westward sunset.

Rockstar's world building is already there. It's just gotta match the zip code.

Woody's Blaine County guitars still stick with me. I don't know this Lopatin guy from Adam but Rockstar usually knows what they're doing. Just hope the mix is clean enough for cheap headphones after everybody's in bed.

A score that hands off between swamp guitars and neon synths depending on which county you're in is exactly the kind of character-driven detail that makes a world stick. Give me one midnight deal in Vice City where Lopatin's tension builds under the dialogue like heat lightning. Now that's a moment.
