ananta is real and it's launching a few weeks after gta 6

I've been following Ananta for a bit now. Push Square got more hands-on time and they're still saying it's insanely ambitious. Anime open world, urban sandbox, the whole thing. It launches January 15th. That's a few weeks after GTA 6 drops on November 19th. So we get GTA 6, then another big city game on PS5 right after.

I know some people think nothing can compete with Rockstar. And yeah, GTA 6 is going to be massive. But Ananta being this close on the calendar is interesting. It's doing its own anime thing, not trying to be a GTA clone. The preview says they can't believe it's real, which is a strong take from a site that's seen a lot of open world games.

For me, the timing matters because I'll still be deep in Leonida by mid January. I'm not going to drop GTA 6 for anything. But if Ananta is actually good, it could be a nice change of pace after a couple months of Vice City. Different vibe, different art style, maybe different systems.

The PS5 generation is ending with two urban sandboxes back to back. That's wild. We waited years for GTA 6 and now there's another ambitious open world right after it. I'm not saying Ananta will steal GTA 6's thunder, but it's cool to see the genre getting this much attention.

I'll probably check out Ananta eventually. But November 19th is locked in for GTA 6. Nothing is touching that week.

November 19 to January 15 is 57 days, roughly eight weeks. For reference, GTA 5 launched September 17, 2013 and GTA Online followed 14 days later. If Rockstar runs a similar post-launch schedule, Ananta arrives right as GTA 6's online window opens, not after interest cools.

The overlap isn't a real fight anyway. Anime-styled sandbox versus Leonida realism, two different audiences with some shared players.
