Caught this quote from Strauss Zelnick in a GamesRadar piece and it's been rattling around my head. He said "the people who hate running public companies are the people who hate telling the truth."

On one hand, I get it. Public companies have to open their books, do earnings calls, answer to shareholders. It forces a certain level of honesty that private companies can dodge. And Take-Two's been pretty upfront about GTA 6's timeline, even if they're cagey on details.

But man, the timing of this quote is something else. The whole industry's in a weird spot right now, layoffs everywhere, and here's Zelnick basically saying if you can't handle the transparency, that's a you problem. It's a flex, but it's also kind of refreshing? Most CEOs would just give some corporate non-answer.

I keep thinking about how this applies to Rockstar's silence on GTA 6. They're not a public company on their own, but they answer to Take-Two. So when Zelnick says they're being truthful, does that mean the radio silence is the truth? Like, there's nothing to say yet that won't mess with their plans?
