11 days out and this sub's whole identity is about to flip

Been lurking here for years at this point. Same cycle every week. Someone zooms in on a fence in a screenshot, we get a 400 comment thread about whether it's a real Leonida landmark. Someone else posts a "what do you think the map size is" poll. Rinse, repeat. It's been fun, genuinely, but it's also been a lot of us chewing on the same three crumbs.

And now we're basically at the finish line. November 19. That's it. Whatever this place looks like in a couple weeks, it's not gonna be the sub I've been refreshing at work for the past few years.

What it's gonna turn into

Gameplay clips. Hundreds of them. People finding stuff in the first hour that I won't hit for a month because I've got a job. Easter egg threads. Screenshots of random locations with a caption like "anyone else find this spot yet". Progression talk, glitch videos, the whole thing.

Spoilers are gonna be the real test. Somebody's gonna finish the story in a weekend and post something careless, and the mods are gonna have a bad time. I'm not looking forward to that part.

it'll be weird to not be riding the hype train and over analysing every crumb of marketing

Yeah. That's the bit that actually gets me. The speculation era has been its own thing, and it's about to just end. No more frame-by-frame breakdowns of a trailer. No more "did you see the thing in the corner". Just the game, sitting there, playable.

Weirdly gonna miss the drought

I know that sounds stupid. But there's something about the waiting that made this place fun. Everyone theorizing together, nobody able to prove anybody wrong. Once the game's out, half of it gets settled in a day and the other half gets buried under gameplay posts.

Someone already joked about GTA 7 threads showing up. Honestly wouldn't surprise me by week two.

Anyway. I'm clearing my drive for the November 10 preload and booking nothing for that weekend. See you all on the other side of this thing.
