gamesradar says gta 6 details actually add to gameplay, not just for show

GamesRadar put up a piece about GTA 6 and the gist is Rockstar is taking mechanics we already know and reworking them so they feel fresh but still familiar. That's the kind of thing that gets me more hyped than any trailer shot.
I've seen a lot of people worried that GTA 6 would just be GTA 5 with a new coat of paint. But if the details they're adding actually feed back into gameplay instead of just being set dressing, that's a huge difference. Rockstar's always been good at this. RDR2 had a ton of little systems that seemed pointless until you realized they changed how you approached missions or just existing in the world.
What I like about this take is it pushes back on the idea that bigger means better. A game can have a million animations and still feel hollow if none of them matter. The article seems to be saying GTA 6 is avoiding that trap. Every new thing has a reason to exist.
I'm not going to pretend I know exactly which mechanics they're talking about. The piece is pretty short. But the overall point tracks with how Rockstar has been describing the game. They keep saying depth matters more than raw scale. And after the extended look, I believe them.
If the final game really does make all those little details count, November can't come soon enough.

I'm cautiously on board with this. The thing that'll decide it for me is whether the mission design actually leans on those systems. GTA V's heists worked because the prep fed the finale, your choices changed how the job played out. If GTA 6's reworked mechanics do that across the whole campaign, we're talking real replay value instead of a padded 100% checklist.
My one worry is that RDR2's precedent cuts both ways. For every system that mattered, there was something like weapon cleaning that existed mostly for immersion. I slogged through all of it for the completion percentage anyway, but I'd rather Rockstar pick fewer systems and wire them into missions properly. Under three months out, I guess we'll know soon enough.
