console first means the mysteries actually stay mysteries

I play on both PC and PS5, so I'm not trying to defend the wait or anything. I want the PC version as much as anyone. But there's one thing about the console first approach that I've come around on.

When a game drops on PC at the same time, people tear the files apart within days. Mods, datamining, all of it. Every hidden thing gets exposed before most players even find it naturally. With GTA 6 being console only at launch, that can't happen. Not right away.

Take the sea monster thing. Is there actually one in the game? Nobody knows yet. There might be some weird way to trigger it, or it might not exist at all. That's the fun part. We have to actually play and figure it out by hand. No file dumps telling us the exact spawn conditions or whether the model is even in the build.

Same goes for any other secrets Rockstar hides. The mystery stays a mystery until someone stumbles onto it in the actual world. That feels rare now. Most games get solved before the first week is over.

I'm not saying the PC delay is good overall. It's not. But this one side effect is something I'll enjoy while it lasts.

Would you rather have the PC version day one and lose that, or is the wait worth it for the mystery?
