What hyper-local Florida stuff do you hope makes it into Leonida?
Saw a post asking Florida locals what weird landmarks or history they'd want Rockstar to sneak into Leonida. Got me thinking about how much deep-cut state lore they could pull from, especially for the rural areas and the Everglades-like region up north.
We already know Vice City itself is gonna be a neon-soaked modern take on Miami, but the countryside is where they can really go nuts with the stranger side of Florida. RDR2 was packed with obscure historical references and folk tales, so I'm hoping GTA 6 does the same for Leonida.
Some of the suggestions that stood out to me:
- Peanut Island and the JFK bunker — a tiny island with a Cold War-era fallout shelter built for the president. Perfect for a hidden government conspiracy mission or just a creepy exploration spot.
- Jupiter Lighthouse — iconic red lighthouse that could serve as a navigational landmark or a vantage point.
- Juno Pier — classic fishing pier, maybe a spot for some low-key side activities or a drug deal gone wrong.
- Stiltsville — those colorful houses on stilts in the middle of Biscayne Bay. Would be an amazing location for a secluded safehouse or a high-end party spot.
- Coral Castle — a real place built by one guy out of massive coral rocks, supposedly using some mysterious technique. The in-game version could have a whole conspiracy theory side quest attached to it.
And then there's the history. The Ashley Gang, a group of 1920s outlaws and rum-runners in the Everglades, basically Florida's Bonnie and Clyde. Rockstar loves their outlaw couples, so a Lucia and Jason mission referencing them would be a nice touch. Or Trapper Nelson's jungle zoo, where a guy wrestled alligators and built his own settlement on the Loxahatchee River. Could be a Strangers and Freaks mission hub.
Someone also mentioned a flooded ghost town under Lake Leonida, referencing the real 1928 Okeechobee hurricane flood. That's the kind of dark, hidden history that would make exploring the map feel rewarding.
I'm not from Florida myself, so I'm curious what other hyper-local oddities people would want to see. What's the one landmark, legend, or piece of local weirdness you think Rockstar absolutely has to include?

ok so im not from florida either but the coral castle thing is wild. one guy moving all that rock alone? that's literally begging for a weird side mission where you help some hermit build his impossible house. ngl i'd spend hours just looking for that.
the stiltsville safehouse idea is fire too. imagine doing a heist setup meeting in the middle of the bay and there's just flamingos everywhere. lol. the ashley gang reference would hit harder if they tie it into lucia and jason somehow.
i hope the grassrivers has some trapper nelson type dude. wrestling gators for cash sounds like peak gta stranger mission energy. maybe there's a flooded ghost town you can scuba dive into. i'd die
