the lost gta generation — kids born 2000-2007 never had a new gta drop during high school
Saw someone on reddit call it the "Lost GTA Generation" and it kinda hit me. If you were born between 2000 and 2007, you never got to experience a brand-new mainline GTA release while you were in high school. That 14 to 18 window where a game like this just lands different.
I'm old enough to remember picking up San Andreas on launch day, skipping class with my friends to play it. The map felt endless, the radio stations were all we talked about for weeks, and every day someone had a new cheat code or a hidden spot they'd found. That shared discovery thing is real. When you're that age, you've got the time and the brain space to just live in a game world. No job stress, no kids, no real responsibilities. Just you and your crew exploring every inch of Vice City or Los Santos.
Now think about someone born in 2004. They were 9 when GTA V came out. Maybe they played it later, but it wasn't theirs in the same way. By the time they were old enough to really appreciate it, the game had been out for years, the secrets were all over YouTube, and the online mode was already a grindy mess. They missed that moment of everyone being on equal footing, figuring things out together at school the next day.
GTA 6 is going to be their first real launch. They'll be anywhere from 19 to 26 when it drops in November. Not exactly high school, but still young enough that it could be that defining game for them. College dorms, first apartments, late-night sessions with friends on voice chat. It's not the same as passing a controller around on a CRT, but it's their version of it. I'm actually a little jealous. They get to go into a new Rockstar world completely fresh, with no idea what to expect, and that's a rare thing these days.

I'll be 52 when it drops. Fresh map sounds great but I'll be lucky to finish the prologue before my kid needs the car.

Tell that kid to keep it under 3k RPM till the oil warms up. Anyway FACTS. Fresh map means fresh builds to discover. Hope Leonida lets us slam cars and do proper engine swaps. None of that cookie cutter upgrade path.
college dorms, first apartments
thats me lol. '06 and i'm stressed cuz i can only afford standard. is that enough
rp servers are gonna hit different when everyones lost. no wiki maps, no optimized escape routes yet. that first month of leonida rp is pure chaos and its beautiful.
dont stress standard. rp servers run on base game mechanics. youre not missing anything that matters for builds.
