i need gta 6's npcs to actually fight back this time
Been rewatching the Extended Look and every trailer breakdown I can find, and one thing keeps bugging me. The NPCs look incredible, most humanlike I've ever seen in an open world. But in all that footage, they don't seem hard to beat. I know the Extended Look was shot in a controlled environment and pulled from different builds, so I get that it's not final difficulty. Still, I hope the game has some real challenge.
TLOU2 handled difficulty so well. You could tweak it to be brutal or keep it manageable. RDR2 had cores and limited weapon loadout, and I loved that friction. Rockstar has said random NPCs in Leonida can pull guns on you, and that you're not the only armed person around. That's the kind of tension I want.
My biggest problem with GTA V was clearing missions with near perfect accuracy and barely taking any damage because enemies felt like bots. I could coast through without paying attention. I don't want that in VI. I want to have to think about cover, ammo, health. Not so hard it's unplayable, but enough that missions demand something from me.
I'm not worried about the visuals or the world. Rockstar clearly nailed those. I'm just hoping the combat and NPC behavior match that quality. Do you think Jason and Lucia will still feel like gods walking through Leonida, or will the NPCs actually make us work for it?
