So I got to sit down with a GTA 6 preview build and took a ton of notes. The world stuff alone is wild. Hundreds of interiors confirmed, though they wouldn't give me an exact number when I asked about the old 700 rumor. Safehouse interactivity is deep. I watched Rob eat an apple and toss the core in the bin, then shave at the bathroom mirror. You can cut your hair shorter at home but not grow it. There's a zoo, drive thrus are in, and at one point you had to buy groceries but they cut that as a step too far. You can still grab snacks and drinks, Rob bought the six pack Jason's holding in Trailer 2.

Fast travel is everywhere: bus stops, train stations, trams, taxis, and RydeMe which is basically Uber. Scooter Bros lets you call your personal vehicle to you, something GTA 5 single player never had. Phone apps I saw: BuckMe, RydeMe, Scooter Bros, WhatUp, Waink, a fitness app, and Snapmatic. Social media is fully implemented, NPCs post stuff and for some posts you can actually travel to that spot and find the event happening in real time. Greet and antagonise is back and works on any NPC. No Rockstar Editor when I saw it, but there's a photo mode. Streamer mode exists with a toggle to disable copyrighted music. No radio wheel, you scroll stations one at a time, and there's a separate on demand tab with podcasts. TV is way more built out than GTA 5, Rockstar hired outside animators for in game shows. Mission waypoints are pink, custom ones cyan. Map is twice GTA 5's size and three times RDR2's playable area. Vice City alone is twice Los Santos, and the built up area around it is roughly eleven times Los Santos's. It's pronounced Lee-Oh-Nigh-Da.

The police and heat stuff is the biggest change. Police no longer show on the minimap at all. Focus is the replacement, it reveals police through walls. Someone has to actually witness and report a crime for cops to respond, by phone, alarm, or a vehicle tracker reporting itself. There's a new Heat system layered under the wanted stars. Heat indicators sit below the stars and show exactly what police know: CCTV footage, that you're operating as a couple, your outfits, appearance, weapons, vehicle. Each one can be addressed separately. Destroy the footage, split Jason and Lucia up, change outfits at your vehicle, mask up before the crime, stash the weapon. Splitting up as a couple can drop a star on its own. Solid white stars mean direct line of sight, flashing white means you've broken it and are losing them, hollow stars mean an alarm went off but they have no description of you. In the Extended Look, Lucia rides past cops with hollow stars and flips them off, nothing happens.

Rob also told me if you see someone walking their dog and the dog does its business, you can wait for the owner to pick it up in a bag, hit them so they drop it, then pick the bag up yourself and throw it at people. That's the level they're going to.

What's the first thing you're testing when you get the game, the dog poop physics or seeing how long you can keep heat off you?
