Caught Roger Clark on Cade Onder's channel and he talked about how he handled all the tuberculosis coughing as Arthur. Apparently it wasn't as brutal as you'd think because the voice work stretched across five years.

He said the really bad coughing scenes got scheduled for the end of recording days, when his voice was already wrecked from hours of takes. So the hoarseness wasn't acting, it was just his vocal cords giving up.

But the gross part is that he'd sometimes go in when he had a cold on purpose. Five years of sessions means he got sick plenty of times, and instead of resting he'd tell them to record him. He said they got a lot of genuine data that way, and he mentioned phlegm, which I could have lived without knowing.

It's kind of funny because everyone praises his performance, and it turns out some of it was just real congestion. Not taking anything away from him, the man won Best Performance at The Game Awards in 2018 and RDR2 has sold over 87 million copies.

Makes me wonder what Rockstar's GTA 6 actors are doing right now. We're two months out from launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and the motion capture and voice sessions are long done, but I'd love to hear stories like this from Lucia or Jason's actors once the game is out.
