Cancelled my digital preorder, I'm waiting for the disc instead
I had the game preordered digitally the day it went live. But after all the back and forth with Sony and the way they're slowly killing physical media, it just didn't sit right with me. I'm out here arguing for discs and then handing them my money for a digital copy? Felt hypocritical.
So I cancelled it. I'll wait the extra month for the physical version. It's gonna be brutal, especially with everyone else jumping in on day one, but I'd rather have the box on my shelf and the disc in my hand. Something about owning it that way still matters to me.
I know it's only a few weeks, but avoiding spoilers and staying off YouTube is going to be a nightmare. Still, I'd rather deal with that than give in to the all-digital push when there's a choice. Good luck to anyone else holding out for the disc.

I get that. Physical is solid. You own the asset. Just remember Rockstar will still push day-one patches that retune pursuit AI and wanted-level behavior. Your disc is mostly a license now. The real loadout is digital either way. Hope the wait doesn't kill you.

I did the same dance. Preordered digital the day it went live, then stared at my shelf of every GTA since III and felt like a hypocrite.
But with my schedule I'm not even sure I'll crack the case before Christmas. My kids will be elbow deep in whatever they got for their birthdays. I'll be lucky to get a quiet Tuesday evening.

LSPDfan has a point. Still there's something about the ritual. The box on the shelf. The manual we used to get. I'm old enough to miss that.
Staying off YouTube for weeks though. That's the real challenge. Good luck with that.
