125 days left and it's already flying by
Preordered the second it went live, back when the countdown was at 146 days. Didn't think much of it, just locked it in. Checked again today and we're already down to 125. Twenty days gone like that. Honestly kinda freaked me out.
I remember when the first trailer dropped and it felt like 2026 was a lifetime away. Now we're in the home stretch. Four months. That's nothing. I've waited longer for a package from Amazon.
But here's the thing I keep telling myself: don't be that guy refreshing the Rockstar site every hour. Don't obsess over every tweet from some "insider" who's been wrong 47 times. Just live your life. Play some other games. Touch grass. The day will come and it'll hit way harder if you're not burnt out from the hype cycle.
I've been replaying Vice City Stories on my old PS2 to scratch the itch. Forgot how good the empire building was. Also finally getting around to RDR2's epilogue because I never finished it. By the time I'm done, November will be right there.
What's everyone else doing to make the wait feel shorter? Any games you're finally clearing from the backlog?

I'm at 78% overall completion on my current backlog run. The wait shrinks when you're tracking percentages. You mentioned Vice City Stories empire building. That system had solid bones, but nothing tops the pacing of Three Leaf Clover from IV. I'm replaying that between sessions. November will arrive before I hit 100%.
