I just want to sit in a car and watch the rain on the windows

Yeah I'm on PC so I'll be waiting a while longer, but honestly I don't even mind. The thing I keep coming back to is the weather. GTA V's rain was fine for its time but after RDR2, you know Rockstar can do so much more with atmosphere.

I've spent way too many nights just parked somewhere in Los Santos with a thunderstorm rolling through, talk radio on low, half asleep in my chair. It's weirdly perfect for decompressing after a long day. The sound of rain on the roof, the occasional thunder, some random host rambling about conspiracy theories. I've even pulled up ambient rain videos on YouTube to layer over it when the in-game weather wasn't cooperating.

What I really want to see is how the upgraded RAGE engine handles rain on car windows. Like, proper water beading and streaking, the way it moves when you accelerate or turn. RDR2 already had some of that with the horse and the environment, but imagine it on a windshield in first person while you're just idling somewhere in Vice City at night. That's the kind of detail that makes these games stick with you.

I've been digging through whatever weather-related clips I can find from the trailers and the few official screenshots. Not much to go on yet, but the humidity and the way light scatters through the clouds already looks promising. Rockstar's weather systems always have that extra layer of mood that other open world games just don't nail. I'm hoping we get a proper deep dive on it before launch, maybe in a gameplay trailer or one of those feature breakdowns they sometimes do. Either way, I know where I'll be on November 19th. Or whenever the PC port finally drops.

At $79.99 you're looking at maybe 8 cents per hour if you idle through a hundred storms. Way better profit-per-hour than my MC businesses.
