Been replaying V lately and the thing that drives me nuts is having to actually get inside a car just to see what it's called. Half the time I'm squinting at some sedan that looks like three other sedans, and I'm not a car guy so the subtle differences mean nothing to me. I just want to know if it's worth boosting or if I'm about to commit a felony for a piece of junk.
With VI's setting and the way Rockstar's been hyping the car culture in Leonida, this is only gonna get worse. More models, more variants, probably more obscure 80s references I won't catch. I can already picture myself standing in a Port Gellhorn parking lot for five minutes trying to figure out if that's a Willard or a Declasse.
What I'd love is a phone app, something like a vehicle scanner. Pull it up, point the camera at a car, and it gives you the make and model. Maybe even a little blurb about performance stats if you've driven one before. Could tie it into the in-game internet or have it be a feature of whatever car website they put in this time. Doesn't need to be fancy, just functional.
Seems like a small thing but it'd make a huge difference for anyone who isn't a gearhead. And let's be real, most of us are just trying to find something fast enough to outrun the cops, not admire the body lines.
