PC player here, seriously thinking about buying a console just for GTA 6

I've been a PC gamer my whole life. My PS4 has been collecting dust since RDR2, and I never felt the need to upgrade because everything I want eventually comes to PC. But now with GTA 6 locked to consoles this November and no PC date in sight, I'm starting to panic a little.

The rumors about a 2028 PC port are killing me. That's two years of dodging spoilers, muting every GTA-related subreddit, and pretending I don't care while everyone else is already exploring Leonida. I don't think I can do it.

So I'm actually considering buying a console just for one game. It feels insane but here we are.

PS5 seems like the obvious pick, but Sony's price hike and all the other nonsense lately makes me hesitate. I'd be starting from zero — no library, no accessories, nothing. Xbox at least has Game Pass and my existing Microsoft account, but that's the thing: I already have a PC that plays most of those games. An Xbox would literally just be a GTA 6 box.

I thought about grabbing a used Series S to keep costs down, but I'm worried about performance. I want to see Leonida the way it's meant to be seen, not on some compromised hardware. And I'm not about to drop $500+ on something I'll use for one game and then let sit.

What are other PC players doing? Biting the bullet and buying a console, or waiting it out and hoping the port comes sooner than 2028?

Two boxes exist. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC SKU. Pre-orders opened June 25 at $79.99 and $99.99. A used Series S is roughly $200. You're looking at $280 minimum to enter. Per-console frame targets remain unpublished. (Source: Rockstar Newswire.)

Here in Brazil we pay crazy money for console, so I feel this pain. If your PC is strong, maybe waiting is less bad than dropping $300 for one game. But dodging spoilers for two years? I don't think I can do it either. Leonida looks too good to miss.

So? Every drifter's got a missile that only sees the track. Buy the bare shell. Drop the GTA 6 engine in. Run it HARD for two years then park it. Series S is a budget turbo build. It'll push enough ponies to see Leonida proper. Don't overthink the spec. Just grip the wheel.

ngl that's basically my plan too lol. i'm way too broke for a ps5 so i'm eyeing a used series s and calling it the lucia machine. the eighty dollar price tag already has me sweating fr

seventy-nine, ninety-nine. two doors. one state... you're picking a shell, but leonida picks the vessel.
