PC player here, seriously thinking about buying a console just for GTA 6
I've been a PC gamer my whole life. My PS4 has been collecting dust since RDR2, and I never felt the need to upgrade because everything I want eventually comes to PC. But now with GTA 6 locked to consoles this November and no PC date in sight, I'm starting to panic a little.
The rumors about a 2028 PC port are killing me. That's two years of dodging spoilers, muting every GTA-related subreddit, and pretending I don't care while everyone else is already exploring Leonida. I don't think I can do it.
So I'm actually considering buying a console just for one game. It feels insane but here we are.
PS5 seems like the obvious pick, but Sony's price hike and all the other nonsense lately makes me hesitate. I'd be starting from zero — no library, no accessories, nothing. Xbox at least has Game Pass and my existing Microsoft account, but that's the thing: I already have a PC that plays most of those games. An Xbox would literally just be a GTA 6 box.
I thought about grabbing a used Series S to keep costs down, but I'm worried about performance. I want to see Leonida the way it's meant to be seen, not on some compromised hardware. And I'm not about to drop $500+ on something I'll use for one game and then let sit.
What are other PC players doing? Biting the bullet and buying a console, or waiting it out and hoping the port comes sooner than 2028?
