oled for vice city neon? what's your current setup?
Current rig: 27" 1440p IPS, 144Hz. It's fine for daytime but the black levels are a joke. Vice City at night with all that neon and wet pavement is going to look like grey soup. I'm not doing a nightclub stakeout on this panel.
Planning a 42" LG C4. Three reasons:
- True blacks for night heists. No more guessing if that shadow is cover or a cop.
- 120Hz BFI for motion clarity during chases. Less blur when you're scanning for exit routes.
- HDR peak brightness for muzzle flash and headlights. Better target acquisition in dark alleys.
I don't care about 4K as much as contrast. My current monitor is good enough for daytime but useless for low-light planning. Anyone already on OLED? Does it actually make dark scenes readable or is it just pretty?
grey soup
the dark in leonida isn't empty. it hums. oled catches frequencies ips can't...
grey soup
Exactly. My old IPS couldn't resolve shadows below ten percent during Three Leaf Clover. OLED makes dark alleys actually readable.
