Starting to worry about GTA 6, and it's not just the marketing silence

I've been trying to stay hyped, but lately I'm getting this nagging feeling that something's off. Not in a tinfoil hat way, just little things piling up that make me wonder what kind of Rockstar we're dealing with now.

The pre-order stuff rubbed me the wrong way. Locking the Vintage Vice City Pack behind the $99.99 Ultimate Edition feels like a mobile game move, not the Rockstar that used to give us cool bonuses just for showing up early. And no physical release? I get that digital is the future, but holding a GTA disc in your hands was part of the ritual. It's weird to think that's just... gone.

Dan Houser leaving still doesn't sit right with me. He was the voice behind so much of what made the stories click. Without him, I'm not sure who's steering the narrative ship, and that's a little scary.

Then you look at how they're handling GTA Online right now. Nerfing heist payouts, banning the casino feature in Australia (maybe not their fault, but still), and RDR2 is basically a ghost town. They can't even toss it a 60fps patch, but they've got time to tweak payouts to push shark cards? It makes you wonder if GTA 6 is going to be a love letter to the fans or just another decade-long drip feed designed to keep us swiping our credit cards.

I want to believe they're cooking something incredible, but the corporate greed vibes are getting harder to ignore. Anyone else feeling this, or am I just overthinking the wait?

push shark cards

They've been nerfing payouts for years to do exactly that. $99.99 Ultimate Edition is $20 above base for the Vintage Vice City Pack, or roughly 2.5 hours of post-nerf Cayo grinding. That's about $8 in Shark Card value. At that exchange rate, nightclub money won't even cover ammo.
