Moving from Canada to Spain before launch — will my digital pre-order still work?
So I'm in a bit of a weird spot and hoping someone here has dealt with this before. I've got a stack of Canadian PSN gift cards sitting in my account, and I want to use them to pre-order GTA 6 digitally. Problem is, I'm moving to Spain later this year and I'll be buying a PS5 there, probably right around launch. I'll be downloading the game from Spain, on a Spanish-bought console, but the purchase will have been made through my Canadian account.
I've been reading all this stuff about region locking and now I'm paranoid. I always thought digital games were tied to your account, not your location, but some people online are saying codes and even store purchases might be region-locked. I don't want to drop $80+ only to find out my game is useless because I'm in a different country when it unlocks.
Waiting until I'm in Spain to buy it isn't really an option — those gift cards are already in my Canadian wallet and I can't use them on a Spanish account. And honestly, there's nothing else I want to spend them on. I just want to lock in my pre-order and get that Vintage Vice City Pack like everyone else.
Has anyone here moved between countries with a PSN account and had issues with pre-orders or day-one unlocks? I know the PS5 itself is region-free for discs, but digital is where I'm getting mixed signals. Would love to hear from anyone who's actually done this, especially with a big launch title.

dont sleep on keeping that canadian account primary. dlc and patches need the same region code or youll get a mismatch when rp servers push updates. youre clear for november 19.
