Console mod support could solve the realism vs. arcade debate for good

I keep seeing the same arguments pop up in every wishlist thread. Some people want GTA 6 to be this hardcore life sim where you have to eat, sleep, put gas in your car, and deal with real consequences. Others just want to cause chaos without worrying about a hunger meter or a bounty system that actually works. Both sides have a point, and honestly I don't think Rockstar will ever go full survival mode in the base game. They need that massive mainstream appeal.

But what if they just gave us console mod support? Not full-blown script hook stuff that breaks Online, but a curated mod marketplace like Bethesda did with Skyrim and Fallout 4. Let people download survival mods, realistic economy mods, whatever they want for single player. The vanilla purists can ignore it, and the rest of us can tweak the game to our liking after that first playthrough.

I know it's a long shot. Rockstar has always been super protective of their vision, and GTA Online prints money partly because they control the sandbox. But the console mod scene for Skyrim is huge and it didn't hurt their sales. If anything it kept people playing for years. I'd love to see a Vice City where I can actually run out of gas or get arrested for speeding, but I also get why that's not for everyone. Mods would let us have it both ways.

I'm definitely going vanilla for my first run though. Want to see the world Rockstar built before I start messing with it.

Curated mods might let us test if fuel weight shifts the center of mass while driving. Would that break scripted stunt sequences?

Curated mods sound fine, though I'm mostly hoping someone hides a shack (maybe a fishing blind) on Mount Kalaga's east ridge without breaking terrain.

fishing blind

ok so i'd love to find that on kalaga but curated mods still feel like a pipe dream. Rockstar's already locking the Vintage Vice City Pack behind pre-order tiers, they're not about to let us drop custom shacks into Ambrosia! maybe on PC eventually but console? i doubt it.
