rockstar just dropped new gta 6 screenshots and the effects look insane apparently

Rockstar put out a fresh batch of GTA 6 screenshots today, and Insider Gaming is calling the in-game effects "sumptuous." That's a word I'd normally reserve for a fancy dessert menu, but sure, I'll take it.

No idea yet what exactly they're showing off. The article doesn't go into detail beyond that one word, so I'm left squinting at my phone trying to figure out if it's the lighting, the water, the weather, or some new particle stuff. Knowing Rockstar, probably all of it at once.

I've been replaying GTA 5 recently and the jump in fidelity between that and the GTA 6 trailers is already stupid. If these screenshots are meant to highlight specific effects, I'm guessing we'll see some night time neon reflections off wet asphalt, maybe a storm rolling in over the Keys. Or maybe it's the character models, skin and hair and all that. The Extended Look back in August already had some wild detail, but screenshots let you pause and really stare at a single frame.

Either way, I'm just happy Rockstar is still feeding us stuff this close to launch. Six weeks out and they're not going dark. That's a good sign. I'll take any crumb at this point, even if it's just a pretty picture with a fancy adjective attached.
