french preview at rockstar north had a bunch of small gta 6 details worth talking about
Saw a summary of the TroisCouleurs preview at Rockstar North and a few things in there haven't gotten much attention. The world stuff especially.
Traffic gets heavier later in the day. They checked the same street at a different time and it was packed, devs said it was end of day. There was also this moment where a group of NPCs jumping off a bridge dared Jason and Lucia to join. They jumped while holding hands, and while they were still in the water someone stole their car. That's the kind of chaos I want.
The elevator sequence from the Extended Look wasn't a pre-rendered cutscene. It was live gameplay. That surprised me a bit.
Robberies sound properly dynamic. They saw two separate store robberies and neither played out the same. Shopkeeper reactions, customer involvement, police timing, how it escalated, all different. In one, the cashier tried to stall and then changed his mind. After that they went looking for an ATM. If you die before banking cash, you can lose what you're carrying. That's a real risk now.
Some smaller details:
- They joked about a helmet when Jason got on a scooter, so Rob had him put one on.
- They talked to people on the beach, then swam out to a luxury villa barbecue. They weren't invited, so it turned into a fight and police got called. Rob explained that in that situation the police knew what he was wearing, but if they didn't see him get in the car he should be able to pass without being spotted.
- Sand stuck to shoes, sweat showed after sprinting, plants moved in the water, and reflections showed in windows, mirrors, and puddles.
- The barber had a lot of customization options.
- Jason and Lucia were seen walking around linking arms, not just holding hands.
Devs in the room were still noting fixes during the demo. One affectionate interaction between Jason and Lucia felt slightly slow, and a traffic cone bounced too hard when hit. They're still polishing.
There's so much going on with this game. November 19th is going to be a lot.
Which of these details has you most excited, or is there something else from the previews you think people are sleeping on?
