Take-Two says GTA 6 preorders are 'unprecedented' across the industry

Take-Two had their earnings call and Strauss Zelnick didn't hold back on the GTA 6 preorder hype. He straight up said the numbers are something nobody's ever seen before, not just at the company but in the whole industry.
He didn't give any actual figures, but the language was pretty strong.
No one's ever seen anything like this before at Take-Two, or in the industry. That's a big statement coming from the CEO of a publisher that's had plenty of massive launches.
He did pump the brakes a little though. Reminded everyone that preorders aren't sales and people can cancel. Said they're "cautiously optimistic" and realistic about it. Smart move, I guess, after all the delay rumors that were flying around before they confirmed November 19th is still the date.
They also doubled down on the $80 price tag being "phenomenal value." I'm not sure everyone agrees with that, but if the preorder numbers are as crazy as he says, maybe people don't care as much as the internet thinks.
I'm still holding off until we see the extended look on August 27. No reason to throw money down before we get a proper deep dive. But it's clear the demand is absolutely massive, and Rockstar knows it.
