I haven't tracked down the full Dazed piece either, but that headline about playing as a couple or splitting up has me thinking about mission structure more than anything. In GTA V, switching between Michael, Franklin and Trevor mid-mission hit about 60% of the time for me, especially during heists like The Paleto Score. If Lucia and Jason are built as a package deal, I'm hoping Rockstar ties the swap mechanic to actual relationship tension and doesn't treat it like a simple fast-travel system.

What I'd really want from that interview is confirmation on whether solo sessions lock you out of duo content, or if it's more fluid.
