Take-Two just confirmed GTA 6 is still on for November 19, so can we chill with the delay panic?
I've seen a bunch of people on here and Twitter doomposting about an internal delay to 2027, but Take-Two's latest earnings statement pretty much shuts that down. They straight up said the GTA series "continued to outpace expectations significantly" and showed "strong momentum leading up to the planned launch of Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19th."
That's not vague corporate speak. That's them telling investors the date is locked.
Couple other interesting bits from the document. GTA Online's A Safehouse in the Hills update was described as one of the best-performing updates in its history. GTA+ had big year-over-year growth too, which probably means more people are subbing for the perks ahead of VI. And Take-Two expects to generate over $1 billion in operating cash flow during FY2027. That's the kind of money that lets them go all-in on post-launch support, maybe even speed up whatever they're planning for the next-gen Online migration.
I'm not saying everything's perfect. We still haven't seen a second trailer and the marketing has been weirdly quiet. But if the publisher is this confident publicly, I doubt they're sitting on a secret delay. My only real concern now is the PC version. They didn't mention it at all, and I'm still betting we won't see it until late 2027 at the earliest.
