GTA 6 is still undergoing changes despite releasing next month, Rockstar boss says

Saw a GamesRadar piece today where a Rockstar boss said GTA 6 is still undergoing changes even though we're a month from launch. The gist was that the game is never completely settled, there's always stuff shifting around. That's it, that's the whole story. But it got me thinking.

We all know Rockstar polishes until the last second. GTA 5 had day one patches, RDR2 had a massive one. But hearing a boss say that a month out feels different. Like, what are they still tweaking? Mission scripting? NPC density? The wanted system? I'm not expecting them to add a whole new city or anything, but it's wild that the build we saw in the launch trailer might not be final.

I remember when GTA 5 came out, there was that bug where cars would randomly fly into the air. They fixed it in a week. So maybe this is just normal Rockstar paranoia. They don't ship until they're forced to. And with pre-orders already live, they can't delay again. So whatever changes are happening now are going to be in the day one patch or maybe even the disc build if they can squeeze it in.

Part of me is relieved. It means they're not coasting. The game has been in development forever, and if they're still fiddling with stuff, that's a good sign. Another part of me is nervous. A month out, you'd hope the core experience is locked. If they're still moving things around, could that mean some systems are broken? I doubt it, but the thought crosses my mind.

I've been following every scrap of news since the first trailer. The Extended Look in August showed a lot, but it was clearly a vertical slice. Now we're getting close enough that the real thing is almost here. Hearing that it's still in flux just makes me more curious about what the final version will actually feel like. I don't need perfection, I just want it to run smoothly on my PS5 and have that Rockstar magic.

Anyway, not much else to say. Just wanted to share because the quote was so short but it says a lot about how they work. I'm choosing to see it as a good sign that they care enough to keep polishing until the very end.
