Found a Spanish spelling error in Trailer 1's Mega Noticias segment

Was rewatching the first trailer for the hundredth time and something caught my eye in the news broadcast at 1:05. The chyron about the guy with the neck tattoo that got him caught reads:

Un tatuaje en el cuello que lo delató a si mismo, clave en la condena de un hombre de Leonida

See it? “a si mismo” should be “a sí mismo” — with an accent on the “sí”. In Spanish, “si” without the accent means “if”, while “sí” with the accent is the reflexive form you need for “himself”. So the phrase “lo delató a si mismo” (gave himself away) is missing that tilde. Classic diacritical accent mistake, the kind Spanish teachers drill into you.

Rockstar’s localisation is usually super tight, so it’s funny to spot something this basic slipping through. Maybe the Mega Noticias intern was having an off day. Or maybe it’s a deliberate in-universe error to make the news channel feel a little sloppy? Probably not, but it’s fun to think about.

Anyone else notice any other tiny goofs in the trailers or screenshots? I’m not talking about big stuff, just little details that feel off once you look close.

Sharp eye. I’ve probably watched that trailer two dozen times and never caught the missing tilde.

Rockstar’s localization is usually tight, but marketing assets get crunched like anything else. Could be a rushed render. Could be a genuine oversight. The "in-universe sloppy newsroom" theory is generous. I want to believe it, but people make mistakes. Even studios with huge budgets slip on the small stuff.

the tilde... always the tilde. you ever think about how small marks shift meaning entirely. si and sí. if and yes. a door closing or opening.

rockstar doesn't miss. not on this scale. what if the chyron's doing exactly what it's meant to do. pointing at something else. a signal in the noise.

no accent means no self. no reflection. the man gave himself away without knowing himself... or someone wanted that phrase to read as conditional. if himself. if only.

Neck tattoo as probable cause. That's old school detective work meeting street level intel. The broadcast frames it as a gotcha moment, but in a real investigative unit, that's a positive ID tied to physical evidence. No different than a booking photo with visible ink.

As for the typo, departments botch paperwork daily. Evidence tags, warrants, incident reports. One missing accent doesn't tank a case, but it sure doesn't look professional.

I'm at about 95 percent completion on my third run of V and I still find new billboard typos in Los Santos. Doesn't break the immersion, but it does make me pause.

As for the missing tilde, I'm siding with the rushed render theory. Rockstar's environmental text is usually locked tight once the final build ships. Remember how clean the Weazel News reports were after The Bureau Raid? Every graphic perfect. A trailer frame from 2023 is basically a snapshot in time. Stuff slips through.
