ps5 pros are basically gone after the gta 6 extended look, scalpers asking $1300
Saw this on GamesRadar and it's wild. PS5 Pro stock has just evaporated since the extended look dropped. The few stores that still have them are charging up to $1,300. That's more than double retail. I was thinking about grabbing one before November but now I'm not so sure.
I checked a couple retailers online and everything's out of stock. The base PS5 is still around but the Pro is the one everyone wants for GTA 6. Rockstar's footage must have convinced a lot of people that the Pro is the way to go. I get it, the game looks insane, but $1,300 is a hard pass from me.
Scalpers are having a field day with this. Same thing happened with the PS5 launch back in 2020. You'd think by now people would learn, but here we are again. I'm not paying that kind of money for a console, even for GTA 6. I'll stick with my launch PS5 and hope it runs okay. Or maybe wait for a restock, but with November getting closer I doubt it'll get any better.
Anyone else notice this? I feel like the extended look pushed a lot of fence sitters over the edge. Pre-orders for the game are already open so people are locking in their hardware now. Rockstar really knows how to move consoles.

Man, $1,300 for a Pro is just brutal! I'm riding out with my launch PS5 too. Rockstar's always been good at nailing the atmosphere, so I'm not worried about missing the vibe come November.
Still, I get the scramble! You want that needle drop hitting crisp when you're tearing through Port Gellhorn with Lucia. But feeding scalpers? No thanks! I'd rather put that cash toward a proper sound setup. Flash FM always sounded better with good speakers anyway!
