PS5 is absolutely dominating GTA 6 pre-orders right now

Saw the Push Square writeup on that Verge report about Xbox's internal mess, and buried in there is a nugget about GTA 6 pre-orders that's worth talking about.
The Verge piece is paywalled, but Push Square pulled out the relevant bit. Sony has been throwing serious money around to make GTA 6 feel like a PS5 exclusive, and apparently it's working. Pre-orders are heavily skewed toward PS5. Not just a little. Heavily.
That tracks with everything we've seen since the marketing push kicked off. Sony locked in the co-marketing deal early, the extended look aired with PlayStation branding everywhere, and the console bundles are already being teased. Microsoft meanwhile is dealing with layoffs, restructuring, and the whole Activision and Bethesda situation swallowing the Xbox brand. Push Square has a separate piece about how Xbox is disappearing into those two publishers, and it's hard to argue with that framing.
I'm not surprised the split looks this lopsided. GTA 6 is the kind of game that moves consoles, and if you're on the fence about which box to buy, Sony has made the choice pretty easy. The pre-order bonus stuff, the marketing, the timed feel of it all. It adds up.
What I'm curious about is whether Rockstar cares. They get paid either way, but if the install base is massively lopsided at launch, that affects online population, server load, all of it. And it makes the eventual PC version even more of a wildcard.
If this split holds through November, Microsoft has a real problem. GTA 6 is the biggest game of the generation and right now it looks like it's moving PS5s, not Series X boxes.

Same here in Brazil, PlayStation always was the default. Most people I know don't even consider Xbox when GTA is involved.
