So ElRubius got an early look at GTA 6 and talked about it on stream. Someone compiled the highlights and I watched it myself to confirm. Here's what stood out to me.

First off, full limb dismemberment is in. Not just heads popping off, you can blow arms and legs off. And you can stuff bodies in the trunk. Gore is definitely not toned down from RDR2, despite what some people were saying. There was a whole thing about a Brazilian YouTuber supposedly saying gore would be less, but the transcript shows he actually said realism is a mix between GTA V and RDR2, with cars having more weight. So that's cleared up.

Smoking is a real mechanic now. You can buy cigarettes and the animation lasts a while, not a quick puff like RDR2. And it fills your Focus meter, which is basically the new Dead Eye. That's a weird but cool tradeoff.

NPC interactions got a huge upgrade. There's an interaction menu for any NPC, and the dialogue lines are way more than RDR2. No generic hello/goodbye stuff, actual conversations with depth. Beach density matches the trailer too, so that lounger scene with Jason and Lucia is representative of gameplay.

Vehicles work like horses in RDR2. You can store heavy weapons and extra outfits in them, and request your car via an app like GTA Online. Pawn shops are scattered around to sell stolen goods. Large weapons stay in the car or an Ammu-Nation locker, and you can only carry two at a time. High-end cars have GPS trackers, so if you steal one you need a specific mechanic to remove it. Using Focus before stealing reveals nearby cops and the car's value.

No kids in the game world, which makes sense. Dropped weapons stay on the ground physically instead of spinning pickups. There's a TikTok-style social network in-game, and you can hunt down a streamer or influencer who's broadcasting live at that moment. Impact physics combine GTA IV weight with GTA V reactivity, so driving feels heavy but not boat-like. Treasures and collectibles are hidden on the smaller islands too.

I'm honestly blown away by the level of detail. Every new thing that comes out just makes the wait harder. Which of these details has you most excited, or are you skeptical about any of them?

I'd take streamer secondhand stuff with a big grain of salt, but if even half of this is real, the car-as-horse thing is what gets me. Storing weapons and outfits in your ride sounds great until you start thinking about the edge cases.

Like, what happens if you stuff a body in the trunk and then request the car through the app? Does the body persist through whatever teleport logic they use, or does the trunk get wiped? That's the kind of thing I'd burn an hour testing on day one.

Same questions with the GPS tracker. Can cops actually follow the signal while you drive to the mechanic, or does it only matter when you try to keep the car? And the physics claim has me curious too. IV weight plus V reactivity could feel amazing, or it could land in some weird compromise that pleases nobody. Hard to tell until hands-on.
