twitch ceo says gta 6 multiplayer could be a 2027 thing

Dan Clancy from Twitch sat down with Bloomberg and basically said GTA 6's multiplayer is looking like a 2027 thing. He mentioned Twitch has been talking with Rockstar a lot about their plans, so this feels more informed than a random guess from a streamer.
Rockstar still calls GTA 6 a single-player experience and hasn't announced any online mode. But come on, GTA Online prints money. Nobody thinks they're leaving that on the table. Clancy's angle is that Twitch gets a bump when the game drops in November because every creator will be streaming it. The bigger bump, he thinks, comes next year when multiplayer launches.
That timing would be a longer gap than GTA 5. GTA Online showed up a few weeks after the base game back in 2013. A full year or more before GTA 6 online would be a change. I remember the GTA Online launch was rough too, but Rockstar might want to avoid that chaos and let the single player breathe first.
There's also the question of whether the current GTA Online crowd even wants to move. That game has a huge dedicated base and people have spent years building characters and businesses. Rockstar has to figure out how to get them to start over in Leonida without making everyone mad.
I'm not expecting anything official until after launch. Rockstar loves silence. But if Clancy is right and it's 2027, I'm fine with that. Let Lucia and Jason have their moment before the shark cards show up.
