GTA 6's Criminal Profile system sounds pretty interesting, includes a 'shattered' state for players who DGAF

PC Gamer dropped a piece on the criminal profile system and it's got four main states: Professional, Aggressive, Violent, and Psycho. Then there's a fifth one, shattered, that's hard to reach and once you're there you can't come back.

I'm already wondering how that plays out. Red Dead 2 had honor but this sounds like it's tracking how you commit crimes, not just whether you're good or bad. Professional probably means clean jobs, no collateral. Aggressive maybe loud but controlled. Violent and Psycho are self explanatory. Shattered sounds like you've gone so far the game just locks you into chaos mode.

What I want to know is if NPCs react differently based on your profile. Like if you're Professional, do cops treat you with more respect? Or if you're Psycho, do pedestrians run the second you walk down the street? And can you reset it or is shattered permanent for that save?

Also curious if this ties into the heat system from the previews. If you're always leaving bodies, does your profile drift toward Psycho even if you don't want it to?

What do you all think, is shattered a punishment or just a badge of honor for the chaos players?

The permanent part is what gets me curious. If shattered is truly locked in, I'd love to know how it handles edge cases, like does it survive reloading an older save, or does the game snapshot your profile at whatever point you load back to? Might be one of those states with weird interactions nobody tested. Also wondering if dying while shattered changes anything, since GTA usually resets so much on death.

Got a take on this?
